Third Parties
There can be many others impacted by a divorce or family dispute, such as parents of the couple, grandparents, business partners and trustees. Third party cases are rarely straightforward, and we are adept at skilfully managing these disputes, whether you are a third party / intervenor looking for representation or you are dealing with third party claims in your divorce proceedings.
Who are third parties?
Third parties can arise in any type of case but in our specialist area of family law, they are most common in divorce cases. During the division of assets situations can arise that involve other family members or outside organisations – for example, a wife’s parents may have contributed money to the couple’s family home and wish to receive the funds back from the property sale. Or the divorcing couple may both be directors of a company, of which other third parties are co-directors and want to protect their business interests.
